11th SCAR Open Science Conference will take place on 19-23 August 2024 in Pucón, Chile. The SCAR Open Science Conferences are the world's only ongoing global Antarctic science meetings and are held every two years to draw attention to Antarctic issues. They offer scientists from various disciplines and countries the opportunity to present their work, network and participate more actively in SCAR's scientific activities. The EPB will have a strong presence at this OSC, many EPB members and the EPB Secretariat will be represented at this event.
We would like to invite you to a session titled 'Minimising Environmental Impacts using Different Modes of Access in Polar Research', organised by the EU-funded project INTERACT together with the EPB. Aim of this session is to facilitate knowledge exchange on access modalities and research practices between Arctic and Antarctic regions, highlighting work from EU-funded projects like INTERACT III & POLARIN, and from organisations like EPB, COMNAP, and APECS. The session will take place on 23 August in block 3 (14.00-15.30 local Pucón time).
Additionally, several other projects that the EPB is part of, will be represented at the SCAR OSC - like EU-PolarNet 2, SO-CHIC, and others.
