In conjunction with Sultan Mizan Antarctic Research Foundation’s (YPASM) 10th Anniversary, YPASM organised a two-day symposium on 18-19 October 2022 in Kuala Lumpur. This symposium was held back-to-back with the Annual General Meeting of Asian Forum for Polar Sciences (AFoPS) 2022 of which Malaysia is the Chair for 2021-2022. With the support of the Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA) together with the National Antarctic Research Centre (NARC), the symposium gathered both local and international Polar researchers.

The EPB's Executive Secretary, Dr Renuka Badhe, joined the Polar Research Symposium & AFoPS AGM 2022, where she presented European Polar Board activities and co-organised a joint information sharing workshop on polar research and infrastructure between the EPB and AFoPS Members.
