Description
The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS Netherlands) would like to invite you to the annual Symposium of the Netherlands Polar Programme (NPP). This year’s polar symposium will take place 7th December, at NWO in The Hague. The symposium is entitled ‘Polar Impacts’.
The symposium programme is centred around three themes concentrating on the topic of Polar Impacts:
- “Scientific impacts”. We discuss recent research developments onin the impacts the polar regions are facing, including climate change, economic activities, geopolitical issues, and societal developments.
- “Societal impacts”. We discuss the impacts of polar science on policy, society and arts.
- “Funding strategy impacts”. Recent developments at NWO, and specifically the Netherlands Polar Programme will be discussed, including changes in funding instruments, programme management and programme funding.
More information and a detailed programme of the polarfor the symposium will follow later.
You are invited to present a poster during the Symposium and can choose for this option on the registration form. The deadline for submitting an abstract for a postera poster abstract is 18th November.
Due to room capacity, symposium attendeesthe symposium is limited to 120 attendees.
The symposium will be held on 7th December, 2017 at NWO, Laan van Nieuw Oost-Indië 300, 2593 CE in The Hague. The symposium will be English spoken.
