The Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting brings an international group of Antarctic experts to Helsinki. In addition to the two-week meeting, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs organizes together with the Arctic Centre, the University of Helsinki and the think tank Wilson Centre an open event on Monday 29th of May 12-6 pm.
The event is divided into two seminars, the first of which is in English and will focus on major environmental challenges in Antarctica, Antarctic policy perspectives, Antarctic science challenges including climate change, and challenges the Treaty System has faced in the past 25 years.
The second seminar is in Finnish and presents Finnish Antarctic research.
The event does not require registering, and refreshments are offered.
The seminar will take place at the Event Square of the City Hall Lobby, Pohjoisesplanadi 11-13, Helsinki.
