The Southern Ocean Observing System (SOOS) is an international initiative of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) and the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR). The SOOS mission is to facilitate the collection and delivery of essential observations on dynamics and change of Southern Ocean systems to all international stakeholders (researchers, governments, industries), through design, advocacy and implementation of cost-effective observing and data delivery systems.
The SOOS Symposium 2023, “Southern Ocean in a Changing World”, will consist of plenary presentations, parallel sessions and workshops. The organising Committee invites proposals for sessions for the Symposium topics below. Proposals for sessions incorporating short talks and posters, panel discussions and/or workshops are welcome. The symposium topics:
- Circumpolar observations and programmes
